HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE OF LAW
Western Delta University, Oghara was granted license to operate in May 2007. The University was formally opened for academic work at the temporary site in March 2008 with two Colleges, College of Natural and Applied Sciences and College of Social and Management Sciences.
The need to establish the College of Law as an additional College is based on the continuous enquiries by several persons who have the burning desire to study Law and to meet the ever increasing demand for Institutions to read Law.
A formal application for the establishment of a College of law was submitted to the National Universities Commission on the 22nd May, 2017. Subsequently, a Resource Verification visit was carried out on the 16th and 17th November, 2017 as a result of which an approval for the establishment of the college of Law was granted by the National Universities Commission with the following initial Departments:
- Department of Private and Property Law
- Department of Jurisprudence and International Law
